Wedding Photography Guide
Spring 2018
This was a collaborative project with Amy Bennett of Amy Bennett Photography. Her vision was to create a guide for her wedding photography clients to help them understand how photography plays into every aspect of a wedding day. I wrote copy to help her achieve this vision and edited for content.

Broad City Spec Script
Spring 2018
This "Broad City" spec script was my senior project. As such, it required an extensive planning and plotting process and three complete revisions.

About Me
From my first grade report card (2003): Reading and writing are definite strengths for Abby. They seem to come naturally. She is detail-minded and takes pride in her work.

From my senior capstone professors (2018): Your ability to draw from the world, to listen to people, and to not be possessive and territorial about your work is a huge advantage as a writer. Your dialogue is exceptionally good. Lots of people think they can write dialogue, and they can, but not well, and not as well as you can. You’re talented and willing to work hard. Just the second would be enough; the fact that you’re the first is nothing short of incendiary.

From me: While writing fiction in college, I was criticized for two things: 1. being too nice to my characters (read: resolving conflicts too quickly because I didn't want anyone to be sad) and 2. writing characters that are far too self-aware (I am also annoyingly self-aware). My strengths lie in writing collaboratively (even if the extent of that collaboration is being given an idea and told to "run with it") and being a fearless editor of both my own and others' work. When I was a kid, I wrote about fantastical characters, but since I’ve graduated I realize that the most fantastical character of all is someone who knows what they’re doing.

I love parentheses (but am willing to delete them during the revision process), constructive feedback, and the Oxford comma.
